I have been fishing my whole life and I love sharing the outdoors with people. Let me setup a custom guide trip for you and/or your loved ones. I deal regularly with all experience levels, from first timers to the saltiest of veterans.

What to expect

I like to talk to my clients and get a feel for what they want out of the day. Some people want to hike into remote waters, others want to work on specific techniques, some just want an easy day of fishing to escape the daily grind. I'll do my best to give you the trip that matches what you want out of the day.

My story

I am a fly fishing guide in the Truckee area with a passion for the natural world. I grew up on the California coast, spending my youth exploring the hills and streams near Half Moon Bay in the small town of LaHonda. I started fly fishing around 11 on an annual pilgrimage to the eastern Sierras with my father and brothers and I haven't stopped fly fishing since. I am a contract fly designer with Umpqua Feather Merchants, a rod builder, published author, photographer and artist. I have worked in the fly fishing industry almost 20 years and I'm active in many of the local watershed conservation programs, currently sitting on the board of the local Trout Unlimited chapter. I give many presentations a year on fishing the Truckee area along with talks on fly fishing tactics and ethics. I am a 4th generation fly fisher and I come from a long line of teachers.

Rates

Guide Trips

Half day trip (1 or 2 anglers)

$400.00

Generally 4-5 hours, this is our most popular trip package. If you're just starting out, this is probably the best option. If you aren't used to hiking up and down a river, a full day can be a bit much for some people. Adding a third angler is $75.00 extra.

Full day trip (1 or 2 anglers)

$525.00

Generally 8+ hours. This can be a blast if the angler has the energy. It allows us to travel further and into more remote waters. Meals can be supplied for $10 per angler. Adding a third angler is $100.00 extra.
